Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year to Team 8-2

I will be out today due to a family illness. I do expect your best behavior and most disciplined work today. Remember, the measure of a person is not how they act when all eyes are on him or her, but how he or she acts when nobody is watching.

The work you will do today is designed to preview the Era of Reform, which many people see as a natural response to the excesses of Industrialization. Read carefully, think critically, and ask for help when you need assistance.

SPECIAL NOTES

Students who have not yet presented Time Traveler will be expected to do so tomorrow. I suspect that Mr. Weinstein and I will meet to discuss project grades tomorrow and that we may be able to return graded rubrics by Wednesday or Thursday.

All Industrialization Exams will be returned tomorrow. The grades were excellent! Congratulations and keep up the great work!

On Wednesday we will be participating in a Geography Bee. Two students from each section will advance to a school-wide Bee to be held later in the month.

If students finish early, please ask them individually to create a list of ten of the biggest problems facing the United States today. Then, ask students to rank these issues or problems in order of importance.

If any kids finish everything, I do have a library of Junior Scholastic magazines in the back of the room (back table)
